Day 239

Paul starts preschool as a new student at daddy's school next week. Tonight was the ice cream social where new students are able to visit the school, see their classroom, meet their teacher, and of course, have ice cream.

This picture is of my oldest's creation of vanilla with Oreos and M&Ms. It was much more colorful than mine with just Oreos.

He's excited about starting school next week.

Day 223

We had a meet-and-greet with the other parents and preschoolers this afternoon. There have actually been several of them this summer, but this is the first one we've been able to attend because Paul has quite a few summer activities that have conflicted. This one was coordinated more by the school than by other parents.

It was really nice to get to meet the other kids from Paul's preschool and the other parents. Sadly, I introduced myself as the parent they'll probably never see since grandma will be dropping Paul off and dad will be taking him home. It's nice that we are able to make such arrangements, but I'll miss being able to know the parents better.

That's Paul running in the green striped shirt.

Day 156

I was working late into the night tonight trying to get some work done before our busy weekend. I wasn't getting much inspiration on what to take a picture of, so I played around with this shot of my computer with our work system up, my detailed notes on the work I've done towards the bottom, and the calendar - my almost constant remember of stuff to be done and schedules to be met.

It's still a darn cute calendar.

Day 125

I don't think this one turned out quite how I envisioned it, but I tried. I thought this would be a good example of perspective.

I was waiting for Paul after preschool this afternoon and saw these little lights lining the walkway. I thought you could almost see them as lamp posts depending on your point of view. I don't think I managed to convey that, but I also felt pretty silly taking a picture in the preschool teacher's driveway.

Day 106

Paul comes home with a preschool project of some sort nearly every single class day. There's just no way we're going to be able to keep all of these projects, and often they end up so well loved that they're not quite the same as when they first came home.

I've taken to trying to snap a picture of his projects as a way of keeping them without having to find a place to store them. I haven't been as good about it as I could be, but I'm working on it. Today he brought home this cute little boat, and he's super excited to try it out tonight in the bath.

Day 71

This morning I was frustrated by trying to take pictures of the moon. I'm going to figure it out, but not today. Instead I took a picture of one of the old time plows in the parking lot where I meet my mom to take Paul to preschool.

Day 63

I was having a hard time figuring out what to take a picture of today until I remembered that I hadn't changed my desk calendar to March yet. I still think this is about the cutest homemade preschool gift I've ever seen. It's so cleverly colored with his little fingerprints. I'll enjoy this all year long!

Day 55

School was unexpectedly canceled today due to a family emergency. I promised Paul that we'd go and do something fun. I was planning to take him to one of the bounce houses, but I didn't want to tell him just in case we couldn't get ourselves together quickly enough to get there on time.

It was driving him crazy to not know what we were going to do, so I asked him what he would find fun to do. He wanted to go to the library. Once he got the idea in his head, then that's where we needed to go. Momma didn't have a problem with it, since it's free and brought us close to the mall where I wanted to do a bit of shopping.

The pic of the day is of Paul reading at the library. He loves to look through books and could spend a great deal of time finding his favorite characters and stories.

Day 46

Valentine's Day was a big bust around here, so I disappointed my little preschooler by not being able to open my gift until just before bed last night. He was so very excited to give it to me though. It's a pin that he made in preschool, and he was so adorable because he told me that I could put it in my drawer with my jewelry.

No one ever could have told me how much these simple little gifts would mean the world to me. It's nice to know that my parents probably really did appreciate those silly little things we made growing up.
