Day 258

I go through two valleys on my way to work most mornings. Often on cooler mornings, there is this almost ethereal fog in one or both valleys. I'm always telling myself that one day I'll stop and take some good pictures.

This morning, I was heading straight to work and not to drop off the boys, so even though I was running a bit late, I stopped for about one minute and took a few pictures of the valley closest to our house.

I was so pleased with the results that I'm sharing two pictures today instead of one. Again, I'm amazed with the quality our little point-and-shoot is able to get - if it's in the right mood.

Day 216

The fog was really cool in the valley as I was heading to work this morning. I nearly dropped the camera out the window of the car, which would not have made for a good start to the morning.

Day 208

I sitting on the couch, looking out the window this evening and thought this view made a nice picture for the day.

Day 131

Today in the Pacific Northwest we have been holding our breath while enjoying the weather between storms. The sun was out this afternoon, but as we were driving home this evening, these storm clouds were on the horizon and reflecting some awesome colors from the setting sun. I had to pull over and capture a few.

Day 126

Another view of the valley from our street. I thought the misty clouds in the trees and storm clouds were awesome!

Day 110

When I left for work this morning, there was this fantastic fog in the valley. Of course, I had to grab the camera and snag a pic before taking the boys over to grandma's.

Day 97

All day long I had various things I was going to use for my picture - what the boys and I did today, what I made for dinner, the neighbor's plants. But it was in the early evening as I was sitting down with Matt that the winner for the day became clear.

Day 80

I went out on the deck this evening to capture the setting sun. I'm not totally satisfied with how this turned out, but I still like it. It's kind of funny because I tried a couple of different things to get it just right and I think this is the first or second picture I took.

Day 68

More of the white stuff fell this afternoon. I had my camera in my bag from yesterday, so I decided to take it with me to work. It was nice to have around to take some pictures as the snow fell. This one is from our drive home.

I stopped at a spot a bit outside the city and took a picture of the snow sprinkled buildings with the threat of more snow lingering in the background.

Day 64

Paul and I went out to our main street to take some pictures of the valley. This is what it looks like without any flooding, snow or fog. It's nice to have a point of reference with all of the natural events we've been having around here lately. I think it's also a lovely valley on a regular late winter day.

Day 18

Just a picture of the valley taken from our front porch. There's actually no snow, flooding or fog - a rare thing lately.
